Formed in 1970 more or less ex-Deep Purple bassist Nick Simper, Warhorse were intelligibly close to early Deep Purple in their blend of keyboard-colored progressive rock and roll and early hard metal. The grouping coalesced when Simper left Deep Purple in 1969 to pencil lead soul isaac Bashevis Singer Marsha Hunt's patronage band, which included Rick Wakeman on keyboards for a patch. The patronage band formed the nucleus of Warhorse, which recorded a couple of albums for Vertigo in the early 1970s. With their early strong rock/metal sounds and a isaac Bashevis Singer (Ashley Holt) wHO could roll into overserious, high booming vocal phrases, the group have besides been compared to early Black Sabbath, although they lacked the hooks necessary to accomplish the same grade of success as Sabbath or Purple. Echoes of Yes (in the keyboards) and maybe Uriah Heep can be heard as easily. Warhorse stone-broke up in 1973, with drummer Mac Poole joining Gong, and Holt and drummer Barney James (wHO shortly replaced Poole in Warhorse's terminal years) sledding to Rick Wakeman's band.

Courtney Love denies 'scrapping' album
Courtney Love has denied reports that she has scrapped her new album.
The singer claimed that some rearrangements and retakes were being made, but that the work she has done with collaborators Linda Perry and Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan still remains.
Writing on her MySpace blog, Love said: "No 'scrapping' is going on, simply a few retakes especially since all those recordings were leaked onto the net and I knew if we played some of those songs live that would happen so rearrangements on a couple of things have happened.
"Don't assume you know any songs on this album, some may sound somewhat familiar or even have the same titles and arrangements [on] a few. A few are just precious diamonds I wouldn't touch but there's tons of new ones which you have not a clue about I know 'cause I haven't finished lyrics and I'm days away."
Love also explained that the album, set to be titled 'Nobody's Daughter', will be handed into her record label by mid-July at the latest.
